LoanVision beta 4 adds a good deal of polish to LoanVision v3. There were
also a few minor bugs reported, and of course they have been fixed. LoanVision
v3 beta4 is very close to being a "final" version. In fact, we would release
it as a final right now if not for the fact that we still need to update the
main web site and doing the mailing announcement to our existing users. So,
be confident in it and use it. Here's what's new:
- For both Windows and Mac versions, the interface now obeys the theme
settings of your computer. That means that on Windows it looks like an
XP application (as it should) and on OSX it looks like a Platinum application
(as a Classic application should). It also means that if you don't like the
colors of some of the screen elements (such as the color of data fields) you
can change them in your computer's appearence or theme manager - just as
you should be able to.
- On installation, the Mac version running under OSX automatically
knowns it needs to runin Classic mode.
- For network installations, the location of the data can now be specified
in the LoanVision.ini file. So if your network is disconnected it will be
easier to connect it again.
- LoanVision can now be updated to the latest version from inside LoanVision.
"Update LoanVision" is now a menu item on the Help menu (for Windows) and
the Support menu (for Macs).
- The internal icons have been updated for a nicer and more consistent
look.
Since beta 3, LoanVision has had a nifty update utility disptributed with
it. Since this is the first update since then, you can now make use of it.
Here's how:
- Locate the update utility and start it.
- On Windows, click on the Windows Start button, select Programs,
select LoanVision 3, then click on LoanVision Setup-Update Utility.
- On Macs, open your LoanVision 3 for Mac folder (usually in your
hard drive) and double click on LoanVision3 Installer.
- Click through the buttons until you get to the installation options.
- Select Update.
- If you changed the default installation destination, change the destination
directory to reflect that.
- Click through the buttons until the installation starts.
- It finishes on it's own. When it disappears, your LoanVision has
been updated!
Lastly, remember the new tech support options.
